A brand new 2016 Toyota Aygo has been unveiled at the Geneva Car Show and has since generated plenty of attention to itself. This is the second generation of the vehicle and certainly an improved one, not only with its design but also with its impressive performance.
The exterior design of the new Aygo blazes its own trail and sure does set itself apart from the competition. Some of the unique styling features of the new model are the X like front bumper and fender treatment that are confined by the stinging headlights and grille. From the back, there is a black glass hatch and also a black lower section. The taillights are sharp and resemble a blade. It will most likely come in a three and five-door form.
As for the 2016 Toyota Aygo interior, much of the details are still to come. But from the looks of it, the cabin is quite neat and dominated by tough plastic. From the seats we can expect some high comfort and good support. As for the high-tech features, we can expect an 7 inch touchscreen that can be easily operated and a MirrorLink system for your smarthpohone.
Engine and Powertrain
The 2016 Toyota Aygo will be offered with a 1.0 and 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine options, along with a five-speed manual. The engine has been upgraded to enhance the fuel efficiency as well as the CO2 emission decrease. The engine has received a lighter cylinder head and a returned Variable Valve Timing program, that way it creates 69 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm and a large wad of 86 Nm is available from only 2,000 rpm. The gearbox has also been updated. There is an optional X-shift automatic, which can be a choice instead of the five speed one.
2016 Toyota Aygo Price
No official 2016 Toyota Aygo release date has been set as of yet, but we can expect it to enter the market sometime next year. As for the price, we can predict that it will be around the same amount as the one of its predecessor, so anywhere between $10,500 and $14,000.
