The only Lexus LFA ever built for a single model year and although it’s going out of production with it’s 500 units sold out, the Nürburgring versions (50 of them out of 500) will stay for some time and have a chance to prove itself. This is a car for motorsport use. This time, it will be the 7th running of the LFA in the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Lexus is trying to show what the future sports car might look like, so maybe some elements of this car will be used on new models from Toyota and Lexus brands.
The car features a full carbon fiber monocoque, which is implemented with the goal to boost rigidity while reducing weight. We all know how important that is by racing cars.
2016 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Interior
The 2016 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package interior is crafter with a mix of extreme high-tech with spartan sports aesthetics. From the look of the photos, the wheel will be small, which is typical and the seats will have great support. Since the car is lower, the position of the driver is crucial. The space is tight, but still gives the edge of performance and just enough comfort to keep you satisfied. The dashboard is really simple, with one tachometer that has many functions on it, in a round shape, the centre consol with an infotainment and the shifter is placed very close to the driver’s arm, leaving no space for time loop. From our point of view, the red color of the interior combined with the matte black color of the exterior looks just perfect and mean. As for the other color schemes, you can read about them later in this article.
The 2016 Luxus LFA Code X will compete in the SP8 class for production-based cars with naturally aspirated engines displacing more than 4.0 liters. We have to compare this model to the original LFAs, it has 4.8 liter V10 and the LFA Code X gets a 5.3 liter-engine. As for power, for an extra of $70.000 you will get 10 hp more, from 560 hp to 570 hp. This package also brings better performance, because the Japanese supercar can fo the 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, while top speed achieved is 202 mph. The gear-shift time has been reduced by 0.05 seconds to only 0.15 seconds for even faster gear changes.
2016 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Price and Release Date
The price of the 2016 Lexus LFA package is $70.000, while the matte black will cost $20.000 more. Compared to the standard LFA, that costs $375.000, this ones sounds cheap. In addition to it’s LFA, Toyota and Gazoo Racing will also compete with racing versions of the GT 86 (Scion FR-S). Lexus will offer the package in four exterior colors, whitest white, orange, black and matte black as well as three interior colors – black, red and violet. The customer can order a car made built to their specification, provided the wallet is thick enough. Since the care has a limited production and high price, the 2016 Lexus LFA Nurburgring is a very uncommon sight, even amongst supercar circles. To be released in the first quarter of 2016, since the Nurburgring takes place in June.
